Burdens
"Burdens" we all have them. The greatest burden of sin, guilt, and shame as been lifted from the believers shoulders and nailed to the cross.  We are free from its crushing load, freed from sin, death, and the devil.  However, in this world we are still constantly assailed by temptation, and the troubles of this world. A lost job, sickness, tragedies, but we have also been equipped to help one another bear the burdens restore, help and encourage one another.

    TheMessage
"Their is only ONE Christian Message. St. Peter delivers that message in today's text from Acts 2. It is the same and only message of salvation that has been proclaimed and repeated ever since by Christ's church in the power of the Holy Spirit".

    Peace in Jesus
"Peace in Jesus". The troubles of the world confront us every day - troubles in the news, troubles in our families, troubles within ourselves, troubles at work or at school. Jesus knows the world. So He said to His disciples, " In the world you will have tribulation". Yet the final word of this Easter season is not trouble. it is hope through the resurrection of Jesus in defeat of all of this world's troubles. Jesus said to "Take heart; I have overcome the world." Being a follower of Jesus never protects us from experiencing the world's troubles. It does give us hope. It does fill us with courage. It does strengthen our hearts. It does give us peace and joy!

    Good Shepherd
Jesus is our Good Shepherd who loves us more than life. He is the Savior who has won salvation for us. There is no enemy strong enough to overcome Him. He has fulfilled the Father's saving will and purpose and now promises us that no one is able to snatch us from our Father's hand.

    Remember Jesus’ words
"Remember Jesus' words". We are not always good at remembering.  Sometimes we need a messenger like the angels at the tomb who reminded the women of Jesus' words.  "that on the third day He would rise from the dead".

    Return of the Prodigal
The parable of the prodigal son may be one of the most familiar in the repertoire of our Teacher. Jesus speaks His truth into the heart of every person who needs Him, regardless of whether their brokenness is known to everyone and their brother or known only to the sinner and his or her Creator. Jesus' story of a son's foolish ways and a father's lavish grace is a moving tale with a profound impact. But that's not even the full story. The elder son, who wrongly thought that he had it all together and had not sinned against his father, looks with indignation upon the prodigal's homecoming celebration. The father responds with a message for both children, and both of his children desperately need the father's mercy. We do too. Reflect on your brokenness and confess it. rejoice in your Father's forgiveness and receive it. Relish the celebration of the feast that's been prepared for you and share its joy with every other prodigal you know,.

    The Watchman For The House
Today we look at sin and how it corrupts all of creation. How it affects us and the tragedies that we face as a result of it in this life.  We also see in Scripture how apart from Christ we are right in the camp of the wicked and we are all due His judgment and punishment for our own transgressions. But thanks be to God that we have a Savior! A Deliverer! Who stands between us and the wrath of God. Jesus Christ who received the fullness of God's just and holy wrath upon himself to save us now and eternally.

    Hallowed be my Name (3/10/19)
We take a look at our greatest foe, the devil. How he temps us, how we fail. But more importantly, we look to our Savior how Jesus Christ is victorious over this roaring lion who seeks to destroy us. In Christ, we have victory over sin, death and the devil. As Luther writes: "Christ satisfied the Law; he fulfilled the Law perfectly, for He loved God with all His heart, and with all His soul, and with all His strength, and with all His mind, and He loved His neighbor as Himself. Therefore, when the Law comes and accuses you of not having kept it, bid it go to Christ. Say: There is the Man who has kept it; to Him, I cling; He fulfilled it for me and gave His fulfillment to me. Thus the Law is silenced." What a blessed truth and comfort! Jesus was in all ways tempted as we are yet without sin. We are saved by His innocent blood which was shed on our behalf. Hallelujah, what a Savior!
